Wedding flowers to share
The celebration of a wedding is one of those events that make you smile. In this business of flowers, it’s one of the most privileged occasions that you can be a part of- to create floral designs, customized for each couple to help them define their wedding day in a unique way. Flowers are for celebrating life’s special occasions, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it all! (photo: Thistle Dew Floral)
This past July and August, there were some very special couples who decided after they tied the knot, they wanted the floral décor to go to a good cause. Through their event coordinators or the floral/event shops they hired, I received messages- could Heliotrope for Hospice pick up the flowers from their wedding reception and use the flowers in arrangements for people in hospice care?! Of course! Absolutely! It was music to my ears! So whether I picked up 25 centerpieces at 11pm on a Saturday night, or the florist dropped by the floral décor on my front porch at midnight, the next day I repurposed the flowers into mason jars, and delivered them to San Diego Hospice. The flowers of choice for weddings are at their peak of freshness- hydrangea, roses, dahlia, succulents, lamb’s ear, seeded eucalyptus… gorgeous colors and textures! It is always a pleasure to work with this product, and knowing a bride and groom who are celebrating their life together- they choose to share the day with strangers who need flowers at their bedside… I am overwhelmed with gratitude!
Thank you to Adrianne Smith Floral Design, her clients, Sonya and Jeff on July 28th, their event coordinator Stefanie from Creative Affairs, and Sara at Black Lotus Design for hooking us all up! Special thanks to Patti at Thistle Dew Floral and her clients: Mana and David on August 11th; and Andie and Colin on August 18th. Congratulations to the newly weds! May your lives be blessed and full of flowers to celebrate!
